Day 16 - Nov 2, 2007
Cracking rock with Wedges and Feathers
Drilled some 1/2 inch holes in the rock.
Put in wedges and feathers (also called wedges and shims).
Hit them in with a hammer, rotating between them. You can
tell one moves easier after you have hit the others.
After awhile it cracks. Usually strangely quietly.
And then you can remove the rock and the wedges/feathers.
